Trae Tha Truth continues to step up for his city in monumental ways.

As reported by Houston’s ABC 13, the rapper is helping citizens who are currently being afflicted by flooding throughout his home state of Texas.

Trae and his Relief Gang confirmed their continued rescue efforts with the outlet, noting how they first got started by way of picking up hundreds of stranded middle school students from Porter, Texas’ Woodbridge Forrest Middle School and bringing them to safety.

“We’re grabbing the families and transporting them through the areas that have water to get them home,” Trae explained, speaking with the local news network. “They are coming back and forth so we’re doing a pick-up and drop off. It’s hundreds of student still here. Staff still here and everything.”

Trae Tha Truth also took to social media to help spread awareness and encourage others to remain safe during the inclement weather and subsequent flooding. As reported, the rainfall between 7AM Tuesday (May 7) and 1AM Wednesday (May 8) was estimated to be as high as more than 12 inches in some areas. As a result, the water has led to widespread power outages, blocked roads and flash flooding.

To aid in his mission to assist people in need, the rapper has also established a hotline at 713-212-5937 and is encouraging others to reach out in the event he and his team can lend a helping hand.

The Houston rapper has built a name for himself as a hometown hero throughout the duration of his career, working to help better the community and give back in numerous ways, including aiding with hurricane relief and giving away scholarships to 75 students. As a result of his impassioned and selfless efforts, he was awarded with the key to the city of Houston in December 2017.
