Chris Brown is gearing up to celebrate his 30th birthday this weekend (May 5) and in the days leading up to the milestone occasion, the singer is helping build the anticipation surrounding his upcoming album.
In a series of posts uploaded to his Instagram story, the singer announced which artists will be joining him on his forthcoming ninth studio album, Indigo.
Per Breezy himself, the project will include features from Drake (a further testament to the pair’s successfully squashed beef), Nicki Minaj, H.E.R., Justin Bieber, Tank, Tyga, Tory Lanez, Lil Jon, Sage The Gemini, Juicy J and Juvenile. In a follow-up post, he noted that fans can also anticipate contributes from Lil Wayne (who he dubbed his favorite rapper), Gunna and Joyner Lucas.
Back in January, Brown announced the project, which marks his first full-length effort since his double album, Heartbreak On A Full Moon. During the announcement, he hinted at the project’s name for the first time, as well as noted that it won’t be “a million songs” this time. As fans can recall, 2017’s Heartbreak On A Full Moon spanned a colossal 45 tracks and went on to be certified platinum.
“THIS INDIGO ALBUM IS ABOUT ENERGY, LOVE, LIGHT, and HAPPINESS,” he wrote on Instagram at the top of this year. “IT WONT BE A MILLION SONGS THIS TIME EITHER. PROMISE.” Elsewhere during his post, he notes that the album reminds him of his 2009 album Graffiti.
In related news, the singer recently confirmed that he will be going on tour with Nicki Minaj this fall. The pair recently collaborated on Brown’s latest offering, “Wobble Up” alongside G-Eazy.
At the time of this report, the decorated R&B singer has not yet revealed the official release date for Indigo.
