Although Soulja Boy’s 2019 was off to an incredible start, stemming from his business success and cheered on comeback, the rapper unfortunately got himself in a bit of legal trouble.

As reported on Wednesday (May 1), he has officially been sentenced to 240 days behind bars for violating his probation. After appearing in court on Tuesday (April 1) in Los Angeles, the hitmaker and entrepreneur received his sentencing.

The judge gave him 40 days credit on the sentence, due to having already been incarcerated for the last 20 days.

As previously reported, Soulja Boy was arrested after police found ammo in his home, a direct violation of his probation. He was initially convicted in 2014 for carrying a loaded weapon in a car in which he was a passenger. As a result of his prior arrest, he is barred from possessing guns or ammunition.

“My client is very thankful to the judge that he was sentenced to only 240 days because the judge was initially contemplating a sentence of two years,” Fred G. Minassian, Soulja’s attorney, shared in a statement.

In addition to serving his time behind bars, the judge also reinstated his 265 days of community service.

“Once he’s released, he’s committed to follow all the orders and directives of the court and of the probation department,” Minassian added.

In related news, the rapper’s home was burglarized while he was in jail. According to reports, $500K in jewelry and $100 cash was stolen while later using a stolen iPhone to brag about the situation. Some of the items stolen included chains, earrings and luxury watches.

On top of that, the rapper also had his social media hacked while he was awaiting sentencing. Thankfully, that situation appeared to resolve itself much quicker than the other misfortunes he’s had to deal with.
