After an intruder tried to burglarize Bun B’s home on Tuesday (April 23), the UGK co-founder reportedly chased the masked man in order to guarantee his arrest.
Bun’s lawyer, Charles Adams, told TMZ that Bun and his wife Angela “Queenie” Walls met with the District Attorney to discuss the attempted burglary, and to make sure they are seen as victims and not the aggressors in the case.
Bun and Queenie’s story matched evidence found by law enforcement at the scene. The suspect, Demonte Jackson, has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one count of burglary. All three charges are first-degree felonies.
Adams told TMZ that the intruder didn’t specifically set out to rob Bun’s home, but was going house to house in the neighborhood when Queenie answered the door.
After being held at gunpoint and asked for her valuables, Queenie gave the intruder the keys to her Audi. Bun heard the situation from upstairs and confronted the burglar with his gun as he attempted to escape in the car. The two reportedly had a shootout resulting in the burglar dropping his gun and running away. Bun got into a vehicle and chased him down when he removed his masked, however, Jackson escaped again. Authorities found him after he checked into a local Houston Hosptial for a gunshot wound on his shoulder. Neither Bun or Queenie suffered from injuries.
According to XXL, Adams doesn’t expect Bun to be charged for the shooting.
“In Texas, you can defend your home,” Adams told the outlet. “And if an armed home invader breaks into your home and puts a gun at your wife’s head, you can shoot the guy if he’s still in your home. Honestly, this might sound cheesy, thank God that Bun had a gun. Thank God that he was courageous enough to defend his home and his wife [Queenie]. And thank God Queenie was courageous enough to not let the man go upstairs.”
