Cardi B is taking care of business and, in true form, is making sure she is dressed to the nines throughout the whole judicial process.
As reported, on Friday (April 19), the Bronx rapper had a court appearance in New York, during which she rejected a plea deal regarding her involvement in a strip club brawl that took place back in August 2018.
Per CNN, Cardi whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, decided to decline the opportunity to plead guilty to a Class A misdemeanor charge. If she chose to accept the deal, she would have received a conditional discharge and would receive no jail time. However, given her choice to reject the offer, the case will now head to trial.
Cardi B, who is due back in court next month on May 31, is facing two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of assault. Police allege that she threw chairs and bottles during the incident, which took place at a strip club in Flushing, New York.
Back in December, the 26-year-old Grammy Award winner was facing a potential arrest after failing to appear for a required hearing. Later that same week, she made it to the courthouse for her scheduled arraignment with minutes to spare, successfully avoiding jail time.
According to Page Six, the designer outfit the rapper decided to don for her latest court appearance totaled $15,000, including a large gray Hermès Birkin bag valued at least $12,000 that appeared to be part of her Christmas gift from her husband, Offset. Cardi B took to Instagram to flex on her designer threads for court, sharing a portrait of her rocking a white high-neck dress and matching flared trousers by Christian Siriano.
The two bartenders who were allegedly involved in the altercation, Jade and Baddie Gi, have since appeared in a music video of Nicki Minaj’s, adding fuel to her and Cardi’s possibly since-resolved beef.
