Weekend one of Coachella is in full effect thanks to acts like Jaden Smith, Juice WRLD, Tierra Whack, and Janelle Monáe. With headliner Childish Gambino debuting his Guava Island film at the festival, the bar for the rest of the weekend has been set high. Especially after Anderson .Paak made it sentimental during his set Friday night.

During his set, Paak dedicated his performance of “Dang!” to Nipsey Hussle and Mac Miller. “Dang!” served as the first single from Miller’s fourth studio album The Divine Feminine and features Paak on the hook.

“One hand in the air for my brother. I miss you so much, Mac Miller,” he said before the band started playing. “One hand in the air for my brother Nipsey Hussle. And if you got someone you love, say ‘We love ya,’ say ‘We miss ya.’”

Mac Miller passed away on September 7, 2018, days after his fifth studio album Swimming was released. Miller was 26. Hussle passed away on March 31, at the age of 33.

During Nipsey’s memorial service, his longtime partner Lauren London spoke about his spirit and legacy.

“His soul was majestic. He was the strongest man that I ever knew. A gentle father, a patient leader, a divine light. He was brilliant. He researched everything, completely self-taught, constantly seeking knowledge,” London said.

Just one day after Hussle’s family held a private burial at Forest Lawn Cemetary in Hollywood Hills; his gravesite has been flooded with flowers, according to TMZ. According to the cemetery, flowers are the only items allowed at the grave. Any gifts or mementos like photos or CD’s, are not allowed and will be removed by cemetery employees at the end of every night.
