It's here! Netflix drops official trailer for Beyoncé's "Homecoming" documentary

Beyoncé is here to tell the truth.

In the first official trailer for her upcoming Netflix documentary, aptly titled “Homecoming,” a voiceover from the late poet Maya Angelou inspires the exhilarating performer to do just that as she prepares to take to the stage at last year’s standout Coachella Festival.

“What I really want to do is be a representative of my race — of the human race. I have a chance to show how kind we can be, how intelligent and generous we can be,” Angelou says as clips of Queen Bey rehearsing with her dancers and band for the HBCU-themed set plays in the background. The compelling trailer also interjects images of young black students representing their colleges before shifting to visuals from the actual Coachella performance which received rave reviews at the time.

“I have a chance to teach, and to love, and to laugh. I know that when I’m finished doing what I’m sent here to do, I will be called home. And I will go home without any fear or trepidation,” Angelou declares before advising the younger generation to be honest with themselves and with “the children.”

Beyoncé and JAY-Z‘s own kids, Blue Ivy, Sir, and Rumi Carter also make an appearance in the 1-minute trailer. In the sneak peek, a 6-year-old Blue is seen showing off her dance skills alongside her “Flawless” mama.

It appears the documentary, which is set to drop next week Wednesday (April 17) will feature a behind the scenes look at what it took to put together Bey’s epic performance along with footage of the event as it happened, much to the Beyhive’s approval.
