While Kanye West is currently in the middle of a non-proclaimed Twitter hiatus, having not updated his account since January of this year, he instead found another way to show love to the late Nipsey Hussle outside of social media.

During the latest installment of his weekly Gospel-inspired Sunday Service concert (April 7), the Chicago native incorporated some wise words of encouragement from Nipsey, who was fatally shot the weekend prior (March 31).

Prior to the choir breaking out into song, a snippet from an interview was played. The origin of Nipsey’s recorded commentary was not specified but further exemplifies how the rapper’s inspiring words will continue to resonate for lifetimes.

“Just wanted to send some words of encouragement,” Hussle can be heard saying over the loudspeakers. “Y’all stay focused, y’all keep working hard. Believe in y’all self. Prove everybody that doubts y’all wrong. Show up every day. Stay pure. Stay motivated. Stay smart. Show love to your people.”

According to reports, ‘Ye then led the Gospel choir into a performance of 2 Chainz and Marsha Ambrosius’ collaborative track, “Forgiven.” The song appears on 2 Chainz’s 2019 album, Rap or Go to the League, which dropped last month.

Additionally during the weekly celebration, West’s 5-year-old daughter, North West, helped grace the mic. She typically can be found dancing along during the Sunday Service performances but this week was granted the opportunity to take her involvement up a notch.

West also recently made the announcement that he will be bringing his series to Coachella on Easter Sunday (April 21). He previously was slated to headline this year but pulled out due to a disagreement regarding his live show’s production requirements.

In related news, a memorial service for Nipsey is set to be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday (April 11). It has not yet been revealed if the service will entail live music performances from those closest with the late legend.
