Amber Rose announces pregnancy, first child with Def Jam A&R Alexander "AE" Edwards

“We have a sweet little baby boy on the way!”

  /  04.04.2019

Amber Rose is going to be a mommy again!

The model and activist announced the happy news on Wednesday (April 3) with an Instagram photo of herself getting an ultrasound exam. “@ae4president and I are SUPER excited to announce that we have a Sweet little Baby Boy on the way!” she wrote while tagging to her boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards. Rose and Edwards have reportedly been dating since October 2018 and the 32-year-old father-to-be is currently the VP of A&R at Def Jam.

“P.S Sebastian is soooooo Happy to be a big brother!” Rose added referring her 6-year-old son with Rolling Papers rapper Wiz Khalifa. Rose and Khalifa (real name Cameron Thomaz) tied the knot in July 2013 after dating for two years. The couple filed for divorce in September 2014 citing “irreconcilable differences.” Rose went on to date 21 Savage in the Summer of 2017 before calling it quits in March 2018.

In January, the 35-year-old opened up about her relationship with Edwards. “In the past I’ve used the words ‘best friend’ very loosely while speaking of my ex’s but I can honestly say I feel like this man really is my BEST FRIEND!” she declared. “We talk for hours, he makes me a better person, he listens to me and understands me. He also came into my life at a time where I’ve had enough of the narcissistic, cheating and abuse I’ve endured over the years from my previous relationships.”

Rose also thanked Edwards for his “love and support,” revealing that she initially pushed him away when they started dating because she felt “damaged.” “[He] has talked me through everything while simultaneously loving me and working with me so I could overcome my fear of loving someone in the most healthiest way again,” she shared.

Edwards also took to Instagram to share the news of his first child with Rose on Wednesday, writing, “Even when it’s dark.. my SON will shine. Thank u baby 4 my greatest gift. s—t wild! I love you.” He went on to add, “I can’t wait to thug it out w my baby boy. & baby boy, I promise I won’t get mad if ur first words r “where the b—s [at]?” (jokinggg-no hyper-masculinity)”

Both Rose and Edwards received a wave of congrats from their industry peers, including a message from Tyga who called their upcoming bundle of joy a “blessing.” Edwards previously worked at Tyga’s label, Last King Records before joining Def Jam. Rose’s longtime BFF, Blac Chyna, also sent her love, writing, “Congrats Muva,” while rapper E40 and TMZ’s Van Lathan sent the couple well wishes as well. Keep reading to see both of the expecting parent’s announcements ahead.
