T.I. has begun processing the tragic death of Nipsey Hussle, who was fatally shot outside of his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles on Sunday (March 31).

The slaying of the Grammy-nominated rapper has sent a shockwave of grief across the nation, with artists such as Beyoncé, Dave East, the Game, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Drake, Rihanna and Snoop Dogg, among countless others, opening up with fans as they process the grave loss.

Speaking with TMZ, Tip contemplated the senseless murder, as well as offered words of wisdom in honor of the late rapper, family man, community leader and entrepreneur.

“Despair, hopelessness,” he said, reflecting on the emotions he’s experiencing. “Just, I think I’m disheartened, disappointed, and disgusted that the very people that we all work so hard to try to liberate and uplift are the ones that ultimately in the end hope to see our demise.”

As he reflected on Nipsey’s death, he also noted his desire to receive some degree of clarity and understanding on the heartbreaking situation.

“I think, right now, I’m just focusing on some kind of clarity and understanding and eventually, man, I know as the days continue to progress I’ll find it,” he added.

A reporter from TMZ then asks him about his recent social media posts and the thoughts he shared on Instagram following the act of gun violence, explaining how a “lack of education and opportunity” could have played a role in the suspect’s motive.

“Most of us who are subjected to the confinement of those communities, we operate and exist on such a very low vibration and we’re very remedial in our thinking,” T.I. continued. “So when we see people who operate on a high vibration and who have a lot more fleshed out, detailed thoughts for whatever reason—because they’re well-read or because they travel more or they’ve experienced more—it’s either one or two things that’s gon’ happen.”

He then further breaks down what he means, explaining, “That usually ends up in violence, in senseless violence, through jealousy. I think people just hate, not that you’re doing something, but the fact that they’re doing nothing and you doing something reminds them too much that they’re doing nothing.”

As reported, the Los Angeles Police Department continues its search for suspect Eric Holder. The 29-year-old was last seen getting into a white 2016 Chevy Cruze with California plates.
