Cardi B is mourning the loss of a young fan who recently passed away from cancer.

On Monday (March 18), the Bronx native uploaded a photo of herself with Alaysia Crockett. In a heartfelt caption, Cardi recalled meeting Crockett earlier this year. “When I met this young lady I literally had to hold her and put her against my body cause she couldn’t barely stand yet she was sooo happy in a great spirit and her make up on super fleek,” the 26-year-old rapper shared. “Her parents were so happy. Heaven gained the prettiest angel your not in pain anymore. F—K CANCER,” she added, as shown below.

Cardi met Crockett and other young fans at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta center in Georgia last month while she was in town to celebrate the Super Bowl festivities. In a photo uploaded by the hospital’s official Instagram account at the time, the “Please Me” rapper was photographed autographing a patient’s cast. Fans immediately swarmed Cardi’s recent Instagram post sharing their condolences, including one fan who created a video tribute to Crockett on Twitter.

On the music front, Cardi continues to dominate the charts. Her Bruno Mars collaboration holds steady at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Meanwhile, Cardi beat out Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and Post Malone when she took home the trophy for Hip Hop Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Awards last Thursday (March 14).

In July, the mom of Kulture will embark on a batch of U.S. tour dates beginning at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK in support of her Grammy Award-winning debut album, Invasion of Privacy.

As previously reported, Cardi has also signed a Las Vegas residency deal to perform up to six shows over the course of the next year at the Palms Casino Resort’s new club KAOS. She joins the ranks of Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and more superstars who have performed a residency in the Sin City.
