Meek Mill is officially receiving his own holiday in his hometown of Philadelphia, TMZ reports.

City Council President Darrell L. Clarke is set to declare Thursday, March 14, 2019, as the kickoff to “Meek Mill Weekend” in honor of the Championships rapper. In addition to the city level proclamation, Pennsylvania State Senator Sharif Street will reportedly announce the proclamation on a statewide level as well. “Meek Mill Weekend” will run from Thursday through Saturday.

The decision to give Meek his own weekend in Philly comes less than three weeks after Houston bestowed the 31-year-old with his own day on February 24. Meek (real name Robert Rihmeek Williams) uploaded a photo of himself holding a plaque of the proclamation while touring in the city. According to TMZ, the honor was likely given based on his advocacy work in criminal justice reform.

“Life is a roller coaster! Houston gave me a meek mill day!” Meek wrote on Instagram at the time. His latest proclamation in Philadelphia will likely be based upon his contributions to music and art, in addition to his valiant efforts to change the criminal justice system in the United States, TMZ reports.

In January, Meek teamed up with JAY-Z to launch a criminal justice reform organization known as the REFORM Alliance. The main focus of the organization is to advance efforts pertaining to “criminal justice reform and [eliminating] outdated laws that perpetuate injustice, starting with probation and parole.”

The founding members, which includes Kraft Group CEO and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Philadelphia 76ers co-owner and Fanatics executive chairman Michael Rubin, Brooklyn Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai, Third Point LLC founder Daniel S. Loeb, Vista Equity Partners founder Robert F. Smith, and Galaxy Digital founder Michael E. Novogratz, collectively pledged $50 million toward its goal.

The announcement of “Meek Mill Weekend” in Philly coincided with Meek’s Motivation Tour tour. The rapper is scheduled to perform at The Met Philadelphia concert venue on Friday (March 15) and Saturday (March 16).
