Suspect in XXXTentacion murder case accuses prosecutors of not turning over all evidence

One of the men facing murder charges in the fatal shooting of XXXTentacion has come forward to accuse prosecutors of not turning over all of the evidence in the highly publicized case.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Michael Boatwright is claiming that police have withheld sharing evidence, including statements given by the late rapper’s mother and mother his child.

As reported, Boatwright explains prosecutors handed in over 20 CDs containing various documents and items of evidence during the judiciary process. However, he explains that his lawyer has reviewed the police reports, but claims they indicate that officers collected additional statements or information than what was provided.

Boatwright, who is one of the allegedly armed suspects connected to the June 18, 2018 incident, claims police took statements from the rapper’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, and Jenesic Sanchez, the mother of his son, as well as from several others. In the motion, he is requesting prosecutors turn over all sworn statements from each witness, as well as turn over body cam footage and all photographs pertaining to the situation.

Additionally, another suspect, Dedrick Williams, has reportedly hired a forensic expert to help prove his innocence. The decision to bring on additional help was revealed by court documents that show he was granted $15,000 to hire an expert who can testify on his behalf in court.

In related news, XXXTentacion’s posthumous track with his close friend and collaborator Ski Mask the Slump God titled “BAD!” has officially been certified platinum by the RIAA. The track was originally released in November 2018.

Back in January of this year, XXXTentacion’s son Gekyume Onfroy was born. The rapper’s girlfriend and mother issued a joint statement explaining how he chose the baby’s name prior to his murder.
