Just friends or something more?
On Wednesday (Feb. 27) night, Ariana Grande and Big Sean were spotted catching up outside of a recording studio in Los Angeles. The ex-couple looked extra cozy inside of Big Sean’s car according to the photos uploaded on TMZ. Grande reportedly introduced Big Sean to one of her dogs before riding off with the “Blessings” rapper. Their latest reunion has sparked speculation the duo are rekindling their old flame.
Grande and Big Sean famously dated for almost a year before calling it quits in April 2015. Sean’s raunchy lyrics about the pop star allegedly caused their break up. Since then, Grande has dated the late rapper Mac Miller and was previously engaged to “Saturday Night Live” comedian Pete Davidson. She called off their engagement in October 2018. Big Sean went on to date R&B songstress Jhené Aiko in 2016.
In November 2018, Grande released “thank u, next,” the first single off her album of the same name. In it, the Grammy Award winner reflects on her past relationships, including her fling with Big Sean.
When the music video dropped, Grande made it known that the rapper still held a special place in her heart. At one point in the clip, the 25-year-old wrote in her “Burn Book” that she thought Big Sean was “so cute, so sweet” and “could still get it.”
That same month, Aiko sparked reports of a split with the rapper when fans noticed she covered up the giant face tattoo she got of Big Sean on her arm and unfollowed him on social media. She shot down the rumors, writing, “NEW ART! NO BEEF! ALL LOVE!” but the couple hasn’t been spotted together since.
In December, Aiko released a song called “Wasted Love Freestyle 2018,” seemingly discussing her failed relationship. “How did we get away from love? How did love get away from us?” she croons.
Neither party ever officially confirmed their break up, but if the recent photos of Grande and Big Sean are any indication, it won’t be long before we find out.
