Janet Jackson is headed to Las Vegas. The iconic performer announced the exciting news of her upcoming residency across her social media platforms on Tuesday (Feb. 26).

“Hey u guys, I’m so excited to announce my new Vegas residency, “Metamorphosis”! A celebration of my journey and the 30th anniversary of #RhythmNation!” Jackson tweeted. According to Variety, the residency will kick off on May 17 at Park Theater at Park MGM resort and span an additional 14 dates through August.

An official statement of the residency reads, “‘Metamorphosis’ peels back the layers of the immensely private life of Janet Jackson, sharing her transformation from a young girl with issues of self-esteem to global Icon. The centerpiece of this all new thought-provoking show, will be Janet herself, captivating you through your senses with electrifying visuals, explosive dance numbers, chart-topping hits and fan favorite deep cuts.

The statement continues, “Fans will follow her path to self-love, empowerment, motherhood and activism, amidst the challenges faced along her personal journey. She encourages her audiences to find their own light within themselves through her ‘Metamorphosis.’”

The residency will also feature “a special 30-year anniversary celebration” of Rhythm Nation, according to reports. The album is widely considered one of Jackson’s best, and spawned hits like “Miss You Much,” “Escapade,” “Alright,” “Come Back to Me,” “Love Will Never Do (Without You),” “Black Cat,” and of course, “Rhythm Nation.”

Tickets for the show go on sale to the public on Saturday (March 2) at 10 am PST. Fan club members will reportedly receive early access to an exclusive presale on Wednesday (Feb. 27) at 10 am PST followed by another presale for Citi cardmembers at 12 pm PST.

In August 2018, the 52-year-old released her Daddy Yankee-assisted single, “Made For Now.” A follow up to her 2015 LP, Unbreakable, is due out this year. The album will be the twelfth in Jackson’s discography.

Jackson will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on March 29 in Brooklyn.
