Blocboy JB is a wanted man in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.
On Saturday (Feb. 16), the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office announced via social media that they are looking for the 22-year-old rapper (real name James Baker) for multiple charges.
“SCSO needs help in locating James Baker, 22, better known as BlocBoy JB,” the tweet read. “Baker is wanted for poss of drugs & drug paraphernalia, a convicted felon in poss of a handgun, & for theft of prop. Anyone with tips regarding Baker’s location is asked to contact law enforcement.”
According to Memphis news station WREG-TV, the theft charge against JB is for stolen property valued under $1,000.
Blocboy JB, best known for his 2018 hit single “Look Alive,” previously had a verbal altercation with German police in October 2018. In a video posted to his Instagram Story, he could be heard yelling “put your hands on me again,” as two officers in the room with JB and his team were in front of him speaking German.
“If You Ah Police Officer Do Your Job Please Don’t Be On All Dat Extra Tuff Shit Cuz Ahh Nigga Can Get Wit Dat Same Shit #Facts,” he wrote in his Instagram Story following the altercation.
Last month, the rapper made headlines after he filed a lawsuit against the developers of the video game Fortnite for using his “Shoot” dance in the game without his permission.
“I just don’t think it’s fair what Epic is doing,” he said in a press release back in January. “I started the dance and made it popular through my music. Epic didn’t ask me if they could put it in Fortnite.”
Brooklyn rapper 2 Milly, former “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star Alfonso Ribeiro, and the viral sensation known as “Backpack Kid” all followed in the footsteps of Blockboy, and filed lawsuits against Epic Games for using their signature dances in the game without permission.
