Days after performing at the 61st Grammy Awards this past weekend (Feb. 10), Travis Scott has already shifted his focus back to his career.

The rapper, who did not win at this year’s annual awards but was nominated in three categories, has begun the second leg of his Astroworld tour. During a hometown pitstop on Wednesday (Feb. 13), at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, the rapper had quite the memorable return to the road.

During the concert, he was presented with a key to the city of Houston by Mayor Sylvester Turner, who went on to make an additional exciting announcement.

“We owe so much to this guy for keeping Houston on the map,” the mayor shared on stage, with his daughter by his side. “With ‘Astroworld,’ man, and those of us that remember Astroworld, and because of him, we’re gonna bring another amusement theme park back to the city. This city loves you.”

As fans can recall, the 26-year-old’s Astroworld album was inspired by his childhood theme park, which was evidently closed for good in 2005. His tour design and overall marketing for the project were a direct homage to the park and the memories he experienced there as a kid.

He since has began manifesting the possibility to revive the theme park, as exemplified on the album’s opening track, “Stargazing.”

“99, took AstroWorld, it had to relocate / Told the dogs I’d bring it back, it was a seal of faith,” he rapped on the song.

Thanks to the city of Houston, and the rapper’s unwavering dedication to his hometown, it looks like the next generation will be blessed with an amusement park after all.
