Drake is celebrating 10 years since the release of his critically acclaimed mixtape, So Far Gone, which dropped on Feb. 13, 2009. On Wednesday (Feb. 13), the rapper who recently took home the Grammy for Best Rap Song, reflected on the work put in to make the mixtape such a success.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Drake gave a shout out to everyone involved in the project and all the artists who inspired him, including Kanye West who he has feuded with lately. “[Kanye], a decade ago I rapped over your beat cause you just made the best shit and even though you stay wildin [sic] on twitter these days I will never forget what you contributed to the game and my career,” he wrote.

The Scorpion rapper went on to acknowledge Future the Prince, Boi-1da, Ben Baller, and his longtime producer and collaborator Noah “40” Shebib. “[OVO 40], a decade ago you were scared to share your beats,” he revealed. Drake also recognized Trey Songz and Omarion for being a part of the first few artists to collaborate with a then-relatively unknown rapper.

“[Trey Songz], a decade ago you were the first person to recognize potential and give me a co-sign,” he wrote, adding, [Omarion], a decade ago you came to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and laid a verse for an unknown artist from Canada.”

Drake also took time to show his appreciation for the Toronto based illustrator who designed the cover art for his mixtape. “A decade ago you emailed me the cover art for something that would change my life forever,” he reflected.

LeBron James, who has become a close friend and mentor to the rapper, also got a special shout out as well. “A decade ago you came to my release party at 6 Degrees and made me the biggest artist in the city off your presence alone,” Drake joked

Lastly, Drake gave a nod to Young Money founder Lil Wayne writing, “[A] decade ago you took me out of Toronto and gave me the biggest blessing anybody has ever given me.” Keep scrolling to read Drake’s Instagram post in full, then stream So Far Gone available on all streaming platforms for the first time this Thursday (Feb. 14).
