Ciara is kicking off 2019 with an exciting new venture.

During the 2019 MAKERS Women’s Conference on Friday (Feb. 8), the “Level Up” singer announced that she has officially launched her own company and music label.

The venture, named Beauty Marks Entertainment (BME), is designed to reflect the multifaceted interests Ciara has spent her career cultivating. According to the 33-year-old’s post on Instagram, BME is “where music intersects with Film, Fashion, Technology & Philanthropy.”

As such, the company will serve as a multipurpose hub for Ciara to execute a variety of projects, as well as put out her new music. The singer also has plans to release the music of other artists in the future, sharing she has hopes to sign a formal roster once she’s ready to begin that phase.

“This journey has been amazing and I’ve had the time of my life releasing my music under my own label imprint,” she concluded. “No dream is truly too big! I’m excited for the journey ahead.”

In addition to announcing her new endeavor, sources close to Ciara shared with Karen Civil that her husband, Russell Wilson, helped support her next business moves by purchasing her original masters from her past and present record labels. If confirmed to be true, Wilson’s generosity and thoughtful gift means Ciara has full control of her music moving forward.

“The idea of ownership is really important to me and that’s what this phase is about,” Ciara shared, elaborating on BME during the MAKERS conference. “It’s truly about, let’s really build things to where it can last for a really long time and I can really reap the full benefits of my labor. I’ve been in systems and the way the deals are typically structured for us artists, we don’t really get to reap the full financial benefits of our labor. I love what I do. I wake up every day excited to do what I do, even during the toughest times. But at the same time, it’s like, let’s make economic sense of it all as well.”

Congrats to Ciara on kickstarting her new label and company!
