Love him or hate him, Eminem is winning either way.

According to BuzzAngle Music’s 2018 year-end report that tracks music industry consumption in the United States, the Detroit rapper put some impressive numbers on the board. In fact, in 2018, Eminem outsold every artist in the game, even across genres.

Per BuzzAngle, Eminem topped the list, racking up 755,027 units in album sales. In second place is K-pop boy band BTS who sold 603,307 units. Others topping the list are Chris Stapleton and Metallica (No. 3 at 577,287 units and No. 4 at 539,861 units, respectively). At No. 5, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s collaborative soundtrack for A Star is Born clocked 526,803 units.

As reported, half of Eminem’s album sales were the result of his surprise release, Kamikaze, which became the fourth top-selling album of 2018 (373,067 units). The remainder of his album sales came from his catalog, which includes diamond-certified projects The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show.

Additionally, when the data is broken down to account for streaming only, Eminem had an impressive year, garnering the fourth-highest streams of any artist. The top three in that category is comprised of Drake at the No. 1 slot (10.5 billion streams), Post Malone coming in second (6.9 billion) and XXXTentacion in third (5.9 billion).

Another set of statistics compiled by Spotify revealed that in addition to earning his other top accolades, Eminem also does very well in the fitness category. Per Spotify, the rapper’s track “‘Till I Collapse” is the top workout song among the app’s users for the third year in a row. His famed 8 Mile track “Lose Yourself” comes in second on the list.

While he may not have had the most successful album of the year, Eminem’s influential catalog will likely continue to help him put numbers on the board for years to come.
