Chicago rapper CupcakKe posted a worrisome tweet on Monday evening (Jan. 7), raising concern among fans regarding her safety.

After posting the message “im about to commit suicide,” worried fans immediately began sending uplifting messages and asking if possible for those close to her to check in on her as soon as possible. According to the Chicago Police Department, the rapper, born Elizabeth Harris, has been accounted for and is safe.

As reported, the 21-year-old was taken to the hospital for evaluation. An update regarding her current condition has not yet been provided at the time of this report.

Her close friend, Elijah Daniel, took to Twitter to update fans that the police had received several calls and began looking for her location. Per Daniel, they were able to perform a wellness check and take her to a hospital facility.

“Ive never felt so relieved and sad at the same time, @CupcakKe_rapper i love you more than you’ll ever know,” the rapper’s friend shared on Twitter. “You’re one of the sweetest souls ive ever had the pleasure of knowing, and you’re not leaving us. we won’t let it happen.”

After posting her initial tweet, the rapper checked in with fans via Instagram, writing, “Thank you for everything y’all have done for me I really appreciate it.”

Back in August 2018, CupcakKe previously opened up about her struggles with depression.

“I try to be as positive as possible but I just want to say I’m at a very low & depressed point in my life,” she wrote on August 15. “I been feeling this way for a while so please understand if you never hear from me again … it’s nothing no one could of did to make my life better … it’s just me and my demons.”
