Now that the holiday season is over for most of us, it’s back to work for all of your favorite artists. It’s a New Year and a fresh start, which means, for Atlanta grown artist Future, it also the time to leave behind any drama and drop what really matters to most of #FutureHive: New music.
According to Pitchfork, the rapper will be releasing a new album. The new body of music is set for a January 18 date via Epic Records and Future’s Freebandz Entertainment. And while the project doesn’t have a title just yet, Future shared the news on Twitter, hashtagging the project with #ILOVEUMORETHANILOVEME.
Pitchfork also shared news that there’s an extra visual special treat for the #FutureHive. A week before the album drops, Future will release a new documentary called “The WIZRD” on Apple Music. Debuting on the music streaming platform on January 11, the mini movie will share a new look at his life and his process as an artist.
“The feature-length film follows the artist closely and peeks into corners of his world never seen before,” and also “opens up a window into his story and creativity.” Prior to the Apple Music release, Future will host screenings in Los Angeles (January 8 at iPic Theaters) and New York City (January 10 at iPic Theaters at Fulton Market – South Street Seaport).
The first single and video off the (currently) untitled album is entitled “Crushed Up,” which released Jan. 3 and was directed by directed by Spike Jordan and Sebastian Sdaigui. Check it out below.
