Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are preparing for some big changes this year. According to multiple reports, the couple is expecting their fourth child via surrogate. The pair have three children together: North, 5, Saint, 3, and Chicago, who will turn one this month and was born through a surrogate last year.

In August 2018, reports began circulating that the couple had one embryo left from their first experience using a surrogate. According to an insider source, the baby is due to arrive in “very early May.”

Kardashian has opened up about her foray into motherhood both through her social media and the reality TV series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” In an August interview with E! News, she spoke on the speculation her and her husband were planning for a fourth child.

“I don’t know. I read something that it was, you know — none of that was true,” she said at the time, commenting on the prospect of growing her family. “But, I’ve been really open about it and talked about it on our show. So, I don’t know. We start filming season 16 next week. So, if I think about it more and it’s gonna happen, you’ll definitely see it on the show. But as of now, no.”

In October 2018, Kardashian revealed that her daughter North has been experiencing some apprehension regarding her siblings, admitting she “acts like an only child at all times” and is “a little confused” about her family’s dynamic. During an appearance on Ashley Graham’s “Pretty Big Deal” podcast, the beauty entrepreneur further elaborated on what her daughter is going through, as well as her thoughts about having another child.

“She’s beyond jealous now,” Kardashian explained. “She’s just like, ‘It’s my world.’ She said to me the other day, ‘Mom … we just need to have another baby brother so that Saint can just leave me alone … so the girls can be on this side of the house and the boys can be on that side of the house.’”

Additionally, Kardashian has reflected on the process using a surrogate and what she found some of the positives to be.

“I would have maybe one more [child],” she shared. “I really, really enjoyed the surrogacy process. I will say, when it came to the breastfeeding time, I was like, ‘Okay, this is the best decision I ever made.’ It’s a game changer, having to not go through [nursing] every few hours. I can spend so much more time with the older kids and getting them used to the baby.”

Another source shared with Us Weekly that the couple wanted to factor in how West was doing, especially considering how challenging his past year was.

“Kim wanted their carrier to be pregnant shortly after Chicago’s birth, but they put those plans on hold when Kanye was having his issues this year,” the source shared with the celebrity publication. “Kanye has been great. He’s been healthy, happy and his head is clear. They are both very excited for this new baby.”

At the time of this writing, neither Kim Kardashian nor Kanye West have commented on the reports about them expecting a fourth child together.
