Days after declaring on Twitter that he had the best comeback of 2018, Soulja Boy is potentially facing a new set of problems.

Less than a month after launching his own line of handheld and console gaming products, the rapper has pulled two of his SouljaGame devices from his online store, claiming that he had to “boss up” and “didn’t have a choice” in the matter.

The two devices in question, the SouljaGame Handheld and SouljaGame Console, garnered backlash from fans after the observation was made that his products were similar to what Chinese manufacturer Anbernic has available for sale but priced at a higher rate. Soulja Boy’s branded versions were sold for $149.99 and $99.99, whereas the non-branded versions could be found for $105.99 and $72.99.

Additionally, the rapper also received criticism regarding the legality behind the products. Many also voiced concern, warning Soulja he could be facing some serious legal trouble. The consoles claimed to ship with pre-loaded games, calling into question the licensing from companies such as Nintendo.

As recently as Dec. 28, the rapper tweeted, “For anyone that thinks Nintendo is going to sue me you’re retarded. Nothings going to happen everything is legit. My console isn’t going anywhere trust me.”

However, something has happened in the past several days that led to the decision to remove the consoles from his webstore. While Soulja did not explain the reasoning behind the removal, he did affirm his plans to venture into the world of eSports and tech.

Earlier this month, Soulja commented on the backlash his tech endeavor has been receiving, telling Rolling Stone, “Honestly, I feel that everything is 100 percent legit and there will be no reason for any legal ramifications or anything like that. … It’s been researched. Everything has been basically confirmed that it’s a green light and we’re good.”

While it is not yet clear if Soulja has been hit with a lawsuit over the matter, he does seem to be keeping it positive on social media.
