Juelz Santana has reportedly accepted a plea deal in his federal weapons case, a situation he reflects on deeper during a new episode of “Love and Hip-Hop: New York.”

As previously reported, the rapper was booked on federal charges in March of this year after Newark International Airport security found a loaded 38-caliber handgun and an unprescribed bottle of Oxycodone in a bag with his name on the luggage tag. After TSA searched the bag and discovered its contents, the Dipset rapper fled from the scene, eventually deciding to turn himself into authorities.

During the episode of “Love and Hip Hop,” which aired Monday night (Dec. 10), Santana explains to his fiancée, Kimbella, that he decided to take a plea deal, which could land him a sentence of 27-37 months. During their aired conversation, the rapper revealed that if he chose to go to trial and was found guilty, he could have received 47 to 57 months behind bars.

“This whole situation has been an overwhelming nightmare,” Santana explains in a clip that was filmed prior to his sentencing in the weapons case. “And even now, it’s coming down to the wire, and I still don’t know what decision I’m going to make.

Of taking the plea deal, the rapper says he made the decision with his family in mind.

“I felt like it was the least selfish choice for my family,” Santana continues. “I still don’t have no full closure because at the end of the day, I know the final decision is on the judge. He could give me more time than I agreed on. Just when I felt like I was going to be getting some closure, the problems just begun.”

At the time of this report, a sentencing date has not yet been determined.
