Kim Porter will be laid to rest on Saturday (Nov. 24) at 11:00am EST at Cascade Hills Church in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia, multiple outlets including USA TODAY are reporting.
The model, actress, and mother of four children, whom she shared with REVOLT TV chairman Sean “Diddy” Combs, was found unresponsive in her home in Los Angeles, California on Thursday, Nov. 15. The late star’s official cause of death has yet to be determined because even though her autopsy was performed the day after she passed away, Porter’s results were delayed in order to run more tests. She was only 47 years old.
Columbus, Georgia publication Ledger-Enquirer reports that an estimated 1,200 – 1,500 attendees are expected to pay their last respects at the funeral.
On Friday (Nov. 23), Porter’s family released a statement to The Associated Press about her life. They said that “although we’ve lost our best friend, God has gained a special angel and we know she is watching over us.”
The statement from the Porter, Combs and Goodwin families continued: “God broke the mold when he made Kim, there was truly no other woman like her. Although her time here on earth was far too short, she lived a life full of purpose and meaning. She was a loving mother and devoted friend. She was the epitome of kindness and grace. There wasn’t a person she met who’s soul she did not touch. Kim was the type of woman who changed lives for the better.”
A true Georgia peach, Porter was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. After graduating from Columbus High School, she moved to Atlanta to pursue what would become a very successful modeling career. She leaves behind sons, 27-year-old Quincy Brown and 20-year-old Christian Combs, and twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James Combs, who’ll be turning 12 years old in December.
