6ix9ine is placing his focus fully on his current legal situation. After being taken into custody and charged with six federal charges related to firearms and racketeering, the Brooklyn rapper has decided to postpone his upcoming album, Dummy Boy.

The project, which was originally set to drop on Friday (Nov. 23), boasts a handful of top-tier collaborators, including Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Lil Baby and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, among others.

In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday (Nov. 21), the rapper’s management confirmed the delay, writing, “Due to circumstances beyond our control we have postponed the release of Tekashi 6ix9in’s ‘DUMMY BOY’ until further notice.”

A new release date has not yet been announced.

In addition to the rapper’s new music being delayed, his scheduled bail hearing was also postponed. According to TMZ, the rapper is “extremely concerned” for his family, including his 3-year-old daughter.

According to reports, the rapper’s latest arrest stems from members of his recently fired management team wanting to “super violate him,” a gang term for revenge. For his alleged involvement in the Nine Trey Gangster Bloods now facing a mandatory minimum of 32 years, with a maximum of life.

The rapper’s lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, is arguing that his client is not affiliated with any gang, but instead is “an entertainer who portrays a ‘gangster image’ to promote his music.”

“[6ix9ine] became victim of this enterprise and later took steps by firing employees and publicly denounced this enterprise through a morning show,” Lazzaro said, according to a new report from the Blast.

At this time, 6ix9ine remains behind bars, where he was placed in the general population.
