Much to the delight of fans, The Weeknd has revealed that he’ll be releasing his next album sometime in the near future.
The singer, whose latest full-length, 2016’s Starboy, helped earn him the reputation for having thoughtful album roll-outs, shared the good news during a recent live performance.
Per The Weeknd himself, the follow-up project is titled Chapter VI and will mark his latest body of work since releasing the EP My Dear Melancholy earlier this year.
“I want you guys to be the first to know that I’m working on my new album right now,” he divulged to an audience in Toronto. “Chapter VI coming soon. Let’s get it.”
He then followed up the sentiment on Twitter, writing, “Some chapters are smaller than others. Not this next one though…”
Back in September, the multifaceted recording artist celebrated the five-year anniversary of his debut, Kiss Land, by rewarding fans with a limited edition merch collection.
At the top of this year, The Weeknd chose to part ties with H&M after the company ran a racially insensitive ad. He also debuted his collaborative Starboy comic with Marvel and announced a new partnership with BAPE.
