Takeoff is the latest Migos member to make his foray in the rap game as a solo artist, recently dropping his debut project The Last Rocket.
The project, which spans 12 tracks, includes his first-ever single as a solo artist. As reported, the track in question, “Last Memory,” helped Takeoff to achieve a new milestone in his own respective career. The MonstaBeatz-produced song has officially become his first solo offering to chart on the Hot 100.
Forbes reports that the song debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart at No. 54. It also landed in the No. 18 slot on the On-Demand Streaming Songs chart, No. 23 on Hot Rap Songs chart, and No. 25 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Outside of his contributions as part of Migos, Takeoff previously appeared, according to Billboard on the Hot 100 as a featured artist for his Huncho Jack collaboration, “Eye 2 Eye.”
While there is still time left before the first-week charting period ends, Takeoff’s album is predicted to land in the Billboard 200’s Top 5. As reported by Hits Daily Double, The Last Rocket is projected to sell between 45,000 and 55,000 equivalent units.
Now that Takeoff and Quavo each have a solo record on the board, all eyes remain on Offset. He is reportedly expected to release a project on December 14, which also doubles as his 27th birthday. At the time of this report, details surrounding the upcoming effort remain relatively mum, save for the anticipated release date.
On top of each member’s solo projects, it is also rumored that Migos will be releasing Culture III at the top of 2019. Needless to say, there is no shortage of material for fans of the Atlanta supergroup.
