Travis Scott is showing up this election season, encouraging his fans to get up and vote.
On Sunday (Oct. 28), the Astroworld rapper attended a rally in Houston held by Texas Senate hopeful Beto O’Rouke, further proving that his love for his hometown has not wavered since relocating to Los Angeles.
In addition to supporting the Democratic candidate by appearing at the rally, Scott also hopped on the mic to share a few words with those in attendance.
“I just want to reiterate real quick that all the kids need to go out [to the polls],” Scott said, speaking to the crowd through a megaphone. “We need to just tell our peers, whenever we’re jamming music, whenever we at these concerts, we need to just tell our peers to step out and vote. From 18 and up, we can change the world.”
O’Rourke’s campaign has since garnered support from several celebrities, including LeBron James, who was spotted wearing a hat in support of the candidate this weekend, and Houston Texan Arian Foster, as well as has since raised over $100 million.
Meanwhile, Kanye West has also done some campaigning of his own this weekend, this time in the form of designing merch to encourage people of color to exit the Democratic party.
On Saturday, (Oct. 27), at Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit, ‘Ye revealed the new “Blexit” collection, showcasing the various designs and slogans now available for sale.
“Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West,” TPUSA’s Communications Director, Candace Owens, shared in a statement to Page Six, going on to add that West “has taken one of the boldest steps in America to open a conversation we have needed to have.”
In addition to debuting the merch on Blexit.com, the site also includes testimonials from Black Americans who have since left the Democratic party in support of the Republican party. Owens also promised that an accompanying tour for the “Blexit Movement” will take place in various cities throughout 2019.
Curiously, the rapper, who has vocalized constant support of Trump and the Republican party, recently made a generous donation to support Democratic Chicago mayoral candidate, Amara Enyia.
