This month, REVOLT is turning 5 and we’re celebrating the only way we know how… by throwing a massive celebration all weekend! Starting the morning of Saturday, October 20, we’re rewinding the clock to take us back through highlights from our wild first five years. It all leads up to the world premiere of “99 BOMB ASS MOMENTS,” an epic 3-hour special (Sunday, October 21 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT) that looks back at 99 of the biggest, wildest, and most important moments from REVOLT TV history! Until then, here are three of our favorite moments from 2018.
Lil Xan visits “On Clout 9”
When the young rapper visited the REVOLT TV offices in Los Angeles back in February, we asked him to rank, among other things, net neutrality, bitcoin, Aziz Ansari and, as the topic that would later make the most headlines, Tupac. Upon giving the late legend a ranking of “2,” Waka Flocka Flame took to social media to express his disappointment, Trippie Redd defended his fellow newcomer, and we ourselves were inspired to dive into hip hop’s (seemingly unforgiving) generational barriers.
Faith Evans visits “Drink Champs”
One of the biggest moments that happened to REVOLT TV in 2018 was when Faith Evans visited N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s “Drink Champs.” Infamously known for being The First Lady of Bad Boy, Evans’ sit-down was full of surprises, laughs, memories… and more laughs. From discussing everything from The Notorious B.I.G., to Diddy, her amazing singing career, and much more; Evans’ interview was definitely one for the “Drink Champs” books. To this day, the video has garnered almost half a million views on REVOLT’s YouTube channel alone.
“State of the Culture” press conference
Last, but certainly not least, one of the major moments of this year was the launch of “State of the Culture,” a non-sugarcoated, hip hop debate show that speaks the realness and goes for the jugular — whether it upsets people or not. Hosted by Joe Budden and Remy Ma, and co-hosted by Scottie Beam and Jinx; the show has become an instant fan favorite for many hip hop lovers who want to hear the uncut truth from people who are of the culture, and not bystanders looking in.
