In what is such tragic news, rapper XXXTentacion was shot and killed on Monday (June 18) in Florida, Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed. He was 20 years old.

According to TMZ, the Florida rapper, born Jahseh Onfroy, was reportedly leaving a motorcycle dealership in his car when two armed suspects approached his vehicle and opened fire. Video footage surfaced online that appeared to show Onfroy lying in his car motionless.

“BSO homicide detectives said the 20-year-old victim was leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach shortly before 4pm when he was approached by two armed suspects,” the Broward sheriff department detailed in a statement. “At least one of the suspects fired a gun striking Onfroy. Both of the suspects fled in a dark-color SUV. Investigators say it appears to be a possible robbery.”

News of the rapper’s death casted a gloom over the hip-hop community, as many stars took to social media to share their condolences. Call it a testament to his contagious appeal, because everyone from Kanye West to J. Cole, Big Sean, and more sent out their recollections of X. The news also moved controversial rapper 6ix9ine, who issued an apology to his fans and fellow rappers for his trolling antics.
