REVOLT TV is joining forces with DKMS, an international non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders, in hopes of saving a young boy’s life.

8-year-old Darian Smith was only 14 days old when he was diagnosed with sickle cell disease, an inherited disorder in which one’s red blood cells have abnormal hemoglobin—a protein that carries oxygen throughout the body—that causes the cells to form a sickle shape and become stiff.

Since the search for his donor began, there have been two matches identified but, sadly, both matches were unavailable to continue with their donations.

YOU could be Darian’s life-saving bone marrow donor, so register HERE to see if you are eligible.

And if concerned about whether or not bone marrow donation is painful, DKMS says that a little muscle soreness is a possibility, and that pain, bruising and stiffness may be experienced for up to two weeks after donation. Within a week of donating, you should be able to return to work, school and many regular activities. Your marrow will completely replenish itself within 3-6 weeks.

DKMS will also provide check-ups regularly to make sure you are recovering properly, and arrange and pay for any follow-up care if not.

You could make a difference in Darian’s life by registering to be a bone marrow donor HERE.
