Drake and Migos hitting the road together, that’s a win-win — better yet, God’s plan.
With history dating back five years (“We been brothers since ‘Versace’ bando, whoa”), Drake and Migos couldn’t have picked a better time to announce plans for a summer-fall arena tour. Backed by the success of Culture II, which featured the hit collab “Walk It Talk It,” as well as the announcement of Drake’s own album Scorpion (due in June), the hitmakers announced a 41-date celebratory fest otherwise called the ‘Aubrey and the Three Amigos Tour.’ The five-month trip, beginning July through November, includes four-night stays in both New York (Barclays Center and Madison Square Garden) and Los Angeles (Staples Center, The Forum), as well as stops in Toronto, Miami, and more.
The tour is exciting, but also a pivotal moment given the status of both superstar acts. Five years ago, when Drake hopped on the remix to “Versace,” the world was seemingly oblivious to the triplet-flow rappers. It also didn’t help that Drake got the lead-off verse. Fast forward to now and they’re, collectively and respectively, the biggest names in music. From platinum plaques to chart-toppers, Drake and Migos are undeniable mainstream attractions who walk it like they talk it. They’re the pulse of the culture. So as they prepare their incoming nationwide sweep, we traced the five-year friendship of rap’s favorite names.

During his guest-verse spree in 2013, culminating in the September release of Nothing Was the Same, Drake hopped on the remix to Migos’ much-buzzed about single “Versace.” The collab added further stock into the Migos, taking them from Atlanta to the Versace runways and beyond.
March 2017
Much bigger than they were in 2013, Migos released Culture in January 2017 and become the face of rap’s new era. “Bad and Boujee,” the lead single from the album, peaks at No. 1, giving the Atlanta trio their first chart-topper on the Hot 100. By April, just three months after its arrival, the album goes platinum. In the midst of all of that, Quavo lends assistance to Drake’s More Life, where he appears on the song “Portland” with Travis Scott.
June 2017
Three months after Quavo appears on “Portland,” Offset and Drake join forces for Metro Boomin’s “No Complaints” single. Coincidentally, the song arrived just one day shy of the “Versace” remix debut in 2013.
August 2017
Of course, the bromance didn’t stop at “No Complaints” and “Portland.” During the eighth annual OVO Fest in Toronto, Drizzy brought out his bros to run through some hits.
January 2018
For their first proper collaboration since “Versace,” Migos and Drake unite on “Walk It Talk It” from Culture II. On the song, Drake references his bond with Quavo, Takeoff and Offset, rapping, “We been brothers since Versace bando, whoa.”
