Just over a month and change after releasing his surprise EP, Nickel Bag, as a warm-up, Styles P has returned to deliver the entree.

Out today (May 4), the Lox veteran’s ninth solo studio album, G-Host, is a 16-track lyrical onslaught, featuring guests such as Dyce Payne, Oswin Benjamin, Whispers, Kody and more, all while production is handled by Poobs, Boger, Jimmy Dukes, Vinny Idol and Scram Jones, among others.

The new album marks his first solo effort since 2015’s A Wise Guy and A Wise Guy.

Styles P recently appeared as a guest on Complex’s Open Late with Peter Rosenberg, during which he gave fellow MC J. Cole a top-notch compliment, noting that his rapping skills are on “the same tier” as Kendrick Lamar’s. The Chi‘s Lena Waithe and Royce Da 5’9, who also released his long-awaited Book of Ryan project this weekend, appeared on the episode along Styles.

“Y’all are buggin’,” the Yonkers native expressed to the acclaimed host. “J. Cole is f—kin’ nice man. I don’t care how boring they say he is, whatever. For someone to be able to sell that story repeatedly, that’s f—kin’ amazing.”
