After Kanye West raised many eyebrows this past week through a series of tweets offering unwavering support for Donald Trump, the rapper is finally addressing the situation through his music.

With an assist from T.I., the two stage an open conversation, going back and forth about politics, with the Atlanta rapper representing on behalf of “the people.” The song features no chorus and instead clears the air for the pair to have a rapped dialogue about the president and the effect Ye’s support is having on his fans, especially those of color.

For those who previously subjected themselves to West’s Friday night trolling, in the form of a new song called “Lift Yourself,” this one makes for a refreshing contrast, especially as fans come to terms with the fact that Ye’s vocal support of Trump likely isn’t going to change anytime soon.

“I know Obama was Heaven-sent / But ever since Trump won, it proved that I could be President,” Kanye begins. T.I. responds, “Yeah you can, at what cost thought? / Don’t that go against the teachings that Ye taught for?”

The two continue on in a similar bar-for-bar pattern, with Tip rapping directly to Ye what many fans have been taking to Twitter to discuss, as further exemplified by the lines, “The greater good of the people is first / Have you considered all the damage and the people you hurt? / You had a bad idea, and you’re making it worse / This shit’s just as bad as Catholic preachers rapin’ in church.”
