Kanye West re-declared his “love” for Donald Trump during a Twitter spree yesterday, and the Preisdent has since returned the favor.
Yesterday, the rapper took to the social network to share photos of himself wearing an autographed ‘Make America Great Again’ hat and call the Commander-in-Chief his “brother,” but to also clarify that he doesn’t “agree with everything Trump does.”
Trump caught wind of his support and when Fox & Friends co-host Ashley Earhardt mentioned the rapper during an interview this morning, the President responded with mutual adoration, saying:
“He’s got good taste. You know I have known Kanye a little bit and I get along with Kanye. I get along with a lot of people, frankly. But Kanye looks and he sees black unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country, okay? He sees Hispanic unemployment at the lowest it’s been in the history of our country, he sees, by the way, female unemployment, women unemployment, the lowest it’s been in now almost 19 years. He sees that stuff and he’s smart and he says, ‘You know what, Trump is doing a much better job than the Democrats did.’”
In December 2016, West and Trump took a private meeting in Manhattan that the rapper explained was to “discuss multicultural issues, [including] bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago.”
