JAY-Z wins 2018 Webby Award

Last year, Solange won Artist of the Year at the Webby Awards, the leaders in recognizing online excellence, while Kanye West took home the same title back in 2016.

This year, JAY-Z was among those honored. His music video for “Smile,” a song that detailed his mother’s coming-out, won for Best Individual Performance (Film & Video).

He previously received a special recognition award from GLAAD for the same visual.

Jesse Williams and FKA Twigs also won this year, both taking home Webby Special Acheivement awards, him for his work as the founder of both the BLeBRiTY app and Ebroji keyboard; and her as the creator of Instagram magazine AVANTGarden.
