The music community suffered a major loss this weekend, with news breaking that renowned EDM DJ and producer Avicii had passed.

According to reports, the musician, real name Tim Bergling, was vacationing in the Oman capital of Muscat when he was found dead.

While the cause of his death has not yet been revealed, Royal Oman Police shared a statement to CNN, confirming they didn’t suspect any foul play.

“Two postmortems were carried out and we can confirm that there is no criminal suspicion in the death,” the statement shared.

The Swedish native had experienced various health issues that impacted his career in recent years, resulting in his decision to retire from touring in 2016. As previously reported, he suffered from acute pancreatitis, in part caused by excessive drinking.

According to CNN, Avicii’s family traveled to the Arabian Peninsula vacation destination to claim his body this weekend.

During his headlining set at Coachella on Friday (April 20), Kygo dedicated the finale of his performance to the late producer, crediting him with why he got into making music in the first place.
