Kanye West has made a triumphant return to Twitter, turning to the platform as an outlet to write his philosophy book in real-time, announcing G.O.O.D. Music projects and sharing various sneak peaks of what he’s working on.

However, after breaking his lengthy hiatus, fans are remembering how not all of Ye’s opinions are favorable truths to swallow. Early Saturday afternoon, the rapper and fashion entrepreneur threw a bold statement out there while casually posting a small series of tweets, writing, “I love the way Candace Owens thinks.”

For those unfamiliar, Candace Owens is a controversial conservative personality who recently went viral for her clip of absolutely diminishing the Black Lives Matter movement in front of a group of protestors. She also has referred to President Trump as not “just the leader of the free world but the savior of it as well,” using her platform and YouTube channel “Red Pill Black” to promote Black conservatism.

Naturally, fans of West had a hard time processing such a co-sign, which doubles as a stark reminder that West’s shifted political views feel like a surreal contrast to a man who once made headlines for stating on national television that George Bush “doesn’t care about Black people.”

Following the tweet, Owens asked for a meeting with ‘Ye, adding, “I need you to help wake up the black community.”

Take a look at how fans are reacting to Kanye West’s recent tweet supporting the far-right personality, below.
