Acclaimed Swedish DJ Avicii, born Tim Berling, has died. He was 28. The EDM and house musician first charted in the U.S. in 2011 with platinum-certified classic “Levels” and went to No.4 just two years later with the Aloe Blacc-assisted hit “Wake Me Up.” Most recently, he collaborated with Rita Ora on “Lonely Together,” released in August.

His publicist Diana Baron said in a statement to Billboard:

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

Fellow celebrities and DJs took to social media to mourn. R.I.P.
