XXXTentacion is no stranger to controversy.

While he is currently facing multiple felony charges related to domestic violence stemming from a 2016 incident, the Florida rapper has once again found himself making headlines — this time regarding a recently surfaced video in which he appears to hit a woman in the head.

As reported, XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, is now suing the woman in the video for fraud and defamation. Per TMZ, the lawsuit claims that after the 20-year-old’s manager reached out to the woman after the video was posted, her grandparents responded by trying to extort him for $300,000 in exchange for her silence regarding the matter.

Additionally, the suit argues that in the video in question, Onfroy “tapped the back of her head,” further asserting that the woman and her family are trying to capitalize on the situation.

Following the video surfacing, the woman who came forward as the one in the footage shared a statement, explaining, “For those who are questioning why I didn’t come forth earlier, [it] was because I was terrified for my life.”

XXXTentaction’s legal team has since responded, countering that the woman didn’t come forward sooner because “the video is obviously posed and in jest.”

In the meantime, prosecutors are reportedly looking into the video. More on this story as it develops.
