Outside of shattering records and celebrating a decade of dominance, Nicki Minaj spent much of 2017 dropping teasers for the tentatively-titled NM4.

Things got noticeably quiet for much of 2018, but that could soon change. Dusting off the cobwebs from her Twitter timeline, which had been inactive since December, Nicki returned in cryptic fashion. On Sunday (April 8), she tweeted (then deleted) a mysterious and convincing “4.” Then, last night (April 9), she followed up the Houdini-esque tweet with another: “3.”

The messages were deleted, but Nicki cleared any room left for speculation when she went on a “like” spree across Twitter, thus signaling a potential Friday release.

Nicki Minaj released her last album, The Pinkprint, in 2014. Since then, the rapper has been prepping work on the follow-up. In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid last year, Minaj admitted that she desired to make NM4 – the code name for the album – a “classic.”

“That’s next on my bucket list, to deliver my fourth album and make sure that it’s a classic hip-hop album that people will never forget,” she shared. “I know it’s going to be my best body of work and I always love to be in real time, see my fans reacting to something. That’s what I’m looking forward to now. Obviously, I’m not telling them when my album is coming out, but I know that it’s gonna be amazing because I want to thank the people who’ve rocked with me for all of these years.”

Stay tuned for more updates on Nicki’s much-anticipated album.
