Fans have been blessed with teasers all week, with each leading up what is sure to be an instant classic interview between JAY-Z and former late night television host David Letterman.
The interview, which is set to air on Friday (April 6) via Netflix, features the music mogul and the acclaimed host sitting down for an in-depth conversation, with the pair touching on a variety of subjects including politics, the art of emceeing, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, his mother’s decision to come out as gay on 4:44 and more.
In the latest trailer teasing the forthcoming My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman special, JAY-Z tackles the subject of Donald Trump, doing so with an honest air of refinement and subtle optimism.
After Letterman switches gears to talk politics, making a simple statement explaining he’s “beginning to lose confidence in the Trump administration,” Hov is quick to share his opinion.
“I think it’s actually a great thing,” Jay-Z shares in response. He then goes on to argue that the current president is “forcing people to … have a conversation and band together and work together.”
“You can’t really address something that’s not revealed,” he continues in the trailer. “[Trump] is bringing out an ugly side of America that we wanted to believe was gone … We still gotta deal with it. We have to have tough conversations – talk about the N-word, talk about why white men are so privileged in this country.”
Back in November 2017, the famed businessman and rapper previously spoke on Trump during what has been deemed his most revealing interview with the New York Times.
JAY-Z is the latest guest on Letterman’s new show, following the likes of President Obama, George Clooney and Malala Yousafzai. While the interview is slated to air in full this Friday (April 6), take a look at the latest trailer, below.
