Miami-born singer-songwriter Sabrina Claudio is on the rise after infiltrating people’s eardrums with her distinct style of R&B—simmering, breathy, and dream-like—on singles like “Unravel Me” and “Confidently Lost.” But she picks up the pace on her latest effort and recruits yet another newcomer (after collaborating with 6LACK for a remix of “Belong to You”).
New track “Don’t Let Me Down” features the ever-reliable Khalid and a more rhythmic, radio-friendly beat than we’ve previously heard come from Claudio, with a propulsive break on the chorus. Per its title, it details the fear that comes with being vulnerable with a lover, and also features Claudio singing in Spanglish.
The two artists, and director Fouad, have been teasing the song’s music video since yesterday, taking to social media to share stills and clips of a sun-baked field and Claudio’s rear-revealing outfits.
Prior to this, Khalid joined forces with former Fifth Harmony member Normani on “Love Lies.” Claudio can be caught making the festival circuit at New York’s Panorama in July, and San Francisco’s Outside Lands in August. Hear “Don’t Let Me Down” below.
