Lil Mo reacts to Fabolous domestic violence allegations
Lil Mo, a longtime collaborator of Fabolous, reacts to allegations that the rapper assaulted and threatened his longtime girlfriend.
Lil Mo is flabbergasted in the wake of her friend for two decades and multi-time collaborator Fabolous turning himself in to police on Wednesday. Fab was arrested on charges of domestic violence and making terroristic threats, according to reports.
“I was just talking to him,” Mo said Friday (March 30) at the Revolt TV studios in New York. “He’s good. I hit him up and said ‘I love you.’ He hit me back and said ‘I love you too and I appreciate you, Mo.’ I don’t know the logistics. Honestly, even though I’m a part of the culture, I don’t get involved in [gossip]. I know a lot of stuff is hype. How did they get this information? People have turned this thing from one thing to another. What the f—k is going on?”
Lil Mo’s comments to REVOLT were made on Friday, before TMZ released footage of the rapper yelling at Emily and her father outside of his New Jersey home.
Mo says she’s never known Fab to be violent but she has known him to be a loving and protecting family man. The singer refuses to let his reputation get sullied.
“I’m not letting him go out like that,” she promised. “I’ll Olivia Pope this situation before I let somebody take my brother down. Something don’t seem right.”
According to reports, Fabolous is alleged to have punched his longtime mate and former Love and Hip-Hop cast member Emily B in the face seven times, knocking out a few of her teeth. Emily is also the mother of Fab’s two sons. Reports also say her brother and father were in the house at the time of the alleged assault because they had just removed guns from the New Jersey residence.
“Something’s not adding up,” Mo added. “I put myself in the situation. If I’m somewhere and my husband is beating me up and my dad and my husband are there, that’s not my dad and my brother no more.”
Mo says she remains allegiant to Fabolous, as well as “Who he has children with, I love her too.”
Mo wishes the couple would have consulted her with their relationship problems.
“I’m like in my feelings like ‘why didn’t y’all call me?’ I’ve been through s—t,” she said. “‘Do not do this. Not now.’ Who the f—k is the voice of reason.”
Mo is hoping Fab will get exonerated if he is innocent like she believes.
“He didn’t work 20 years plus to go out like this,” she lamented.
Lil Mo also spoke to REVOLT TV about surviving abusive relationships, her issues with depression, new music with Empire star Bre-Z, and more. Stay tuned for the full interview.
