True to form, 6ix9ine wasted no time testing the waters this morning on The Breakfast Club when it came to making controversy-causing statements.

After calling himself the “hottest in the city”—a declaration he’s made to REVOLT TV, too—co-host Charlamagne tha God challenged the 21-year-old Brooklyn-born newcomer, saying, “You’re not the hottest in the city though. You’re not hotter than Cardi B.”

6ix9ine doubled down, however.

“Cardi B doin’ her. Cardi B is different…What she got, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ song? Three Top 10s, yeah, that’s a fact,” he said, but ultimately reiterated his beliefs.

“I’m the hottest artist in the city. I’m definitely the hottest artist in the city. Every song I put out makes Billboard Top 100. I don’t get no co-signs. I don’t got no G-Eazy co-signs. I don’t got no Offset co-sign. I’m self-made. I started it. What’d you say, she had two [mixtapes]? My first project was Top 5, Billboard, debut. Her second; my first one. It’s not no competition. Like I said, shout-out Cardi B. I’m the hottest artist in this city. I’m not supposed to [feel that way]. I know I am. And nobody gon’ take that from me. That’s why I feel like I’m most hated. Everyone wants to come for me. How many people came for me? How many people? A lot. Why? ‘Cause I’m the hottest artist.”
