  /  03.22.2018

As reported earlier this year, Director X, known for directing music videos for everyone from Usher and Kanye West to JAY-Z, Justin Bieber, and Drake, will helm Sony’s highly anticipated remake of the 1972 classic film Superfly. Joining the director, is Future, who is not only co-producing the film alongside Joel Silver (“Lethal Weapon,” “The Matrix”), but also producing the original soundtrack.

In a teaser trailer for the film, fans will hear a taste of Fewtch’s new batch of tunes, as well as a look into the high octane adventure starring Trevor Jackson (Blackish,Grownish) as Youngblood Priest, and Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton,The Chi) as a character named Eddie. Michael K. Williams, Big Boi, and Rick Ross are also attached to the film.

“Superfly” is slated to hit theaters this summer.
