Rae Sremmurd prepare rap's first triple album in five years, 'SR3MM'
Via three new singles.
While everyone else is dropping music, Rae Sremmurd is out here making moments.
For their latest album, SR3MM, the rap duo are preparing a triple-disc release. Announced last month, the upcoming album will combine SR3MM, plus Swae Lee’s Swaecation and Slim Jxmmi’s Jxmtroduction. Going beyond OutKast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below in length, this ambitious project will soon become rap’s first triple album in five years. The last artist to so was E-40, who released part 4, 5 and 6 of The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil in 2013.
Revving up their engine, the pair released not one, but three new songs: “Powerglide” (ft. Juicy J), Swae Lee’s “Hurt to Look” and Slim Jxmmi’s own “Brxnks Truck.” The sounds of each cut vary from Three 6 Mafia-approved to summertime tranquil and absolute rubbernecking heatrock — respectively.
Earlier in February, Rae Sremmurd joined forces with ESPN to debut “T’d Up,” another teaser off the album. No release date has been set for SR3MM, but all three singles are available below.
