Black Panther: The Album is now officially sitting at the top of the charts, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
As reported by Billboard, the soundtrack tops the chart for the week ending in Feb. 15, moving 154,000 equivalent album units its first week. Of that sum, 52,000 were in traditional album sales.

The star-studded soundtrack, which was curated by TDE and Kendrick Lamar, also garnered the biggest week for a soundtrack in roughly a year and a half, since the release of 2016’s Suicide Squad: The Album. The album includes music from and inspired by Black Panther, as well as features contributions from Lamar, The Weeknd, SZA, Khalid, James Blake and more.
Black Panther: The Album marks the fifth No. 1 debut for Top Dawg, as well as is the second soundtrack to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this year, following The Greatest Showman.
Lamar recently took to Twitter to thank his collaborators, writing, “Respect to all the artist/producers that allowed me to execute a sound for the soundtrack. The concept of producing and composing a project other than my own has always been ideal. I appreciate the experience love ones. Continue to be great.”
The film itself is currently poised to make history at the box office, with its accompanying soundtrack victory further adding to the celebration. Run back Black Panther: The Album here.
